The lecture series hosted by the UvA is called Spui 125.

Another site of interest is the Media Masters, run by students of new media master of the UvA.

The university has an arts centre called CREA and they host films and debates, you might like the regular “Dutch film for beginners” cycle.

There are too many film festivals taking place too list, you can find them (in Dutch) on filmkrant.nl and cineville.nl. Among the most important are International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in November and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) in January.
